| Text Message | Greetings to Folks in Naples Interested in Health & Wellness #1. A Fundraiser for Cancer Alliance of Naples - A Plant Based Breakfast Bash Many of you know that the Food for Life series were offered this season, at no cost, due to a grant Cancer Alliance received from the Martin Foundation. CAN does so much for the financially stressed in the community who are undergoing cancer treatment. Because they've been so good to all of us and the Food for Life program, I want to do something to say thank you. I thought a little fundraiser would be a good way to start. And since many of you have asked about breakfast, why not a breakfast cooking class, with tasting and feasting included?! On Tuesday, April 24th from 10 - 12 I'll be cooking and demonstrating, and then you get to indulge in a plant based breakfast at CAN. The menu will feature: Green Goddess Smoothie Super Charged Oatmeal Tofu Scramble with Mushrooms, Spinach and Tempeh Gluten free, healthy pancakes with blueberries Healthy baked treats During breakfast I'll show a 30 minute presentation from Dr. Joel Fuhrman on: "THE SKINNY ON FATS"...... a real eye-opener. Cost: $30/person Checks can be made out to Cancer Alliance of Naples Note: Minimum to do class will be 20; maximum 23 I will take registrations via email and/or phone on first come/first serve basis. email: joanneirwin72@gmail.com 239-784-0854 #2. Marianne St. Johns, Executive Director, CAN, has a request from class participants.......Anyone who has observed positive changes in health as a result of making dietary changes due to the program, please consider writing a few sentences on how The Food for Life Program has impacted you. Marianne will be submitting a grant for more cooking classes, and feedback from participants always makes a difference in whether or not a Foundation will lend more financial support to a non-profit. SOOOOO PLEASE take some time to give a gift. Two participants have already shared their testimonials; a few more would be wonderful. |
