This yummy dip comes from our Food for Life's Cancer Survivor's Guide. This homemade hummus is lower in fat than what you'd purchase in the store, and the garbanzo beans are a good source of protein.
The peas in this guacamole lower the fat content and increase all important fiber. Still, this appetizer derives a good deal of its calories from fat. However, the total fat grams and calories are quite low, and when eaten with 'baked' chips, instead of the fried ones, its fat intake remains within the recommended range. This recipe comes from PCRM's "Cancer Survivor's Guide".

If you have a Vita-mixer, which is a high powered blender, you'll find this recipe on their site. It is so tasty. Folks can't believe that it is not the real thing - cheese!
You can make this as zippy as you'd like. A good dip for sliced veggies.
